Vazz were from Glasgow, Scotland and existed in the mid to late 1980’s. The group consisted of Hugh Small (all music) and Anna Howson (all voices) and were featured on the late great John Peel show on BBC Radio One a few times. They also played a few live gigs including supporting Culture Club in Glasgow.

Their first cassette-only release "Whisper Not" contained six demo tracks from 1982 and was recorded at the legendary Hellfire Club in Glasgow. Only 100 copies were made/distributed. Operation Twilight - a sublabel of Belgian Les Disques Du Crépuscules - scheduled it for release as part of the 2xLP compilation "Antelopes & Alligators" (w/ Map Of Africa, Shiny Too Shiny and Approaching Footsteps). Unfortunately the release never saw the light of day.

The following years Vazz released 3 singles and a mini-album on the infamous Cathexis Recordings label (UK). The latter also published early works of Fini Tribe, Pink Industry, Clair Obscur, Zoviet France, Hula, Click Click, ao.

Hugh Small's new band is called Reluctant Participant.
